PageLightPrime releases Microsoft Word integration with Law Firm DMS
September 06, 2022, Singapore – PageLightPrime, the leading legal document management solution provider has announced Microsoft Word integration with Document Management Apps.
PageLightPrime DMS will now seamlessly integrate with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint desktop and web applications. Users of document management solution can have same experience and access matter documents across all platforms and integrated applications.
Lawyers spend most of their time in Microsoft Word and Outlook. Integration now allows documents to be saved in the matter folder by selecting from matter tree. Metadata like document types or keywords can be provided during the save process. Similarly, Microsoft Word documents can be opened from cloud legal DMS and users can continue with the edit activity. Outlook integration will allow Lawyers to save emails and email attachments to legal email management solution with email metadata captured.
“We do not want to change people’s preference of working in Word or Outlook. Integration will help attorneys to access document management features without disrupting productivity”, says Chandra Jeganathan, Director of PageLightPrime. “Users can access full DMS features including document assembly and automation from Apps, web, and desktop as a standalone solution or integrated with favorite office Apps”
Benefits of the integration is that users can access DMS repository without switching between applications. Tool bar is now added to Microsoft Word and Outlook to save and open documents from cloud matter folders. Law firms requiring strict information management policy preventing users from saving any documents in their local machine can mandate that all documents are only saved in DMS with audit trail. Search entire DMS from Word based on full text or matter metadata, to copy clauses or precedents when creating documents. Search is security trimmed so results are returned only from matters to which users are added as Team Members.
Attorneys can convert Word document to PDF and send as an email attachment to external users. Outgoing emails are stored in matter folders as records. Incoming emails are automatically scanned and saved to matter folders.
With the release of Office integration, users can utilize document management functionality and collaborate with internal and external users all in Microsoft Team platform. Share comments and assign tasks when coauthoring the document without leaving the Microsoft Word application.
